We use testing and screening to check the suitability of the colouring products we provide. For your first colour appointment (or if it is 6 months since your last Skin Test) you will need to make an appointment to attend the salon at least 48 hours before your colour appointment, your stylist will ensure that this is booked in plenty of time. We will apply a small amount of colour behind your ear. Leave for 48 hours. Should you experience any signs of irritation such as reddening, inflammation, itching or burning please contact us. If you develop symptoms that make you unwell, please contact a medical professional. When you attend the salon, we will complete consultation including analysing your hair and scalp. We have vast experience in safe colouring - you can be sure we only use the best products and invest in the most up to date practices. We take your safety and our work seriously. Reactions to hair colour can be serious and even life threatening. There are strict guidelines from manufacturers, insures, industry bodies and the MHRAA around using hair colour. We endeavour to give you peace of mind so that you can safely enjoy your visit to the salon.

You will need a skin test at least 48 hours before your colour appointment. This is because a reaction can happen over a period of time, not always straight away. A 15-minute appointment will be arranged to complete a consultation and any test and is free, for all regular clients a 6 monthly skin test will be completed this will take no longer than a 5-minute appointment.

We will notify you when your next test is needed upon booking your appointment. It is important that you tell your stylist if any changes in your health or medication. If nothing has changed since your last test and we have a valid record (within the last last 6 months) it will be fine to carry out your service.
